I think the current retraction mania is getting silly and way over the top. Science is about truth, reproducibility and the ascertaining of facts. Of course ethical rules are important and violating them has to be punished, but retracting a valid and valuable result for purely formal reasons is to the detriment of all.

Some time ago I approached Daniel’s seventy weeks myself 
and had to resort to hand waving about the first seven weeks. Athas‘ solution is much better and convincingly resolves all the problems in there.
If you absolutely have to see prophecies about post-Biblical, modern times in there, then I still find my readings of Napoleon and the modern state of Israel more convincing than most other suggestions.
